Startup turnaround & revitalization

Hit a dead end? We’ll find the way forward.

Runway running short, a round that won’t close, growth that has stalled, a team running on empty. We step in calmly, look at the whole business, and build a practical route out — a refocus, a relaunch, a new owner or a well-managed transition.

Sound familiar?

Most founders reach us when the obvious options have run out.

You don’t need to have it figured out before you talk to us. Working out the way forward is our job.

  • Runway under six months
  • The next round isn’t coming together
  • Growth has flatlined
  • Too much product, too few customers
  • A co-founder is leaving
  • Burnout at the top
  • Investors are asking for a plan
  • A buyer is interested, but you’re not ready
  • Costs are outpacing revenue

Experience that has seen this before

Fifteen years of scaling, saving and revitalizing startups.

Startup Revitalization Studio is led by an operator who has spent 15 years on every side of the startup curve — growing companies through their scale-up years, stepping in when they stalled, and rebuilding products others had written off.

That is what you get: a fast, clear read of your situation, and a plan built on what has actually worked before — not theory.

What we build on

We start with what’s working.

Even in a tough spot, most startups hold more than they realise. These are the building blocks we most often put to work.

  • Loyal customers

Paying users who rely on you are the strongest foundation for any next step.

  • A focused use case

Often one workflow does the heavy lifting. Built around one audience, it can stand on its own.

  • Software & tools

Working systems, automations and internal tools that would take a successor years to rebuild.

  • Data & knowledge

Data models, documentation, playbooks and customer insight — valuable to the right owner.

  • Integrations

Connections into payments, CRM, accounting and industry systems — slow to build, worth keeping.

  • Team know-how

People who know how the product runs, and can carry it into its next chapter.

  • A product inside the product

A distinct module that can become its own product, with its own customers and owner.

  • Reputation & trust

Goodwill earned with customers and partners — something a good plan protects.

How we work

A clear process, with you deciding at every step.

  1. Assess

A fast, candid review of product, customers, finances and people. A clear read of your options within days.

  2. Stabilize

Cut avoidable cost and risk, keep customers informed, and create breathing room to decide well.

  3. Rebuild

Shape the route forward: refocus the product, carve out what works, or prepare it for a new owner.

  4. Relaunch or hand over

Relaunch, transfer to a buyer or operator — or, where that’s right, close cleanly and fairly.

Example scenarios

What a way forward can look like.

AI · Scenario 01

The AI product that can’t raise again

Starting point20 paying customers, a general-purpose product, and no next round in sight.
Way forwardThe one workflow customers rely on, repackaged for a single industry — a lean, profitable product.

SaaS · Scenario 02

Too much product, too little runway

Starting pointA broad platform with months of cash left and most modules barely used.
Way forwardThe feature customers can’t live without, relaunched as a standalone tool with its own pricing.

Transfer · Scenario 03

The company can’t continue in its current form

Starting pointOperations are winding down; code, customers and IP risk going to waste.
Way forwardA clean, documented package of product, customers and systems that a buyer can take over with confidence.

Handover · Scenario 04

The founder who needs to step back

Starting pointReal customers and revenue — and a founder with nothing left in the tank.
Way forwardAn operator handover or relaunch that keeps the product alive and gives the founder a clean exit.

Who we work with

Everyone with a stake in what happens next.

  • Founders

You’re out of obvious options and want a way forward that protects your customers, team and reputation.

  • Investors

Angels, syndicates and small funds with a portfolio company that needs a plan — and someone to execute it.

  • Advisers

Restructuring, insolvency, legal and accounting professionals who need hands-on digital-product expertise on a case.

  • Buyers

Acquirers looking for well-prepared products, customer bases or carve-outs from startups in transition.

Before you shut it down

Closing the doors is rarely the only option. It’s just the most obvious one.

When you’re tired and time is short, shutting down can feel like the only move left. Usually it’s the one taken by default — because nobody has had the distance to look at the alternatives.

A structured look at the options takes days, not months, and costs little compared with what’s at stake. More often than not, it turns up a better route. And if closing really is right, you’ll close with your customers, investors and reputation looked after.

Next step

Tell us where you’re stuck. We’ll show you the options.

A short, confidential intake is all it takes. Every request is read personally, and you’ll hear back within one business day.
